The Enterprise Village is a new development aimed at providing a mix of light industrial workshops, offices and a business centre for start-ups in the Grimsby area.

The site is located in the heart of Grimsby and is conveniently located with easy access to both the A180 and the centre of the town. The four distinct buildings that constitute the development share a common ICT infrastructure and services. The site also offers a managed reception, access to meeting rooms, training rooms and on site business support.All the offices have already been fitted with wall mounted dado trunking complete with a flexible CAT5e cabling system for the data network and telephone connections. This ensures that every office can easily be connected to the site broadband and telephony services, if needed, and that the distribution of broadband or telephony services around the offices can easily be accommodated. Tenants can choose to either take the operators on-site broadband and telephone services or arrange for their own external service. The telephone service has been designed to ensure the portability of user numbers, for when a business on the site decides to move on to new premises, thereby aiding the limitation of disruption to the business during the move.

The broadband service is provided through a bandwidth management system, which offers the ability to control the shared broadband service should any single user attempt to overburden the service. The broadband service is distributed around the buildings using a multi-core fibre optic cable system, offering excellent performance and flexibility for any business occupying multiple units on the site.

The data network and broadband provision is well-designed and offers good scope for the addition of more ADSL lines or a leased line service to offer increased bandwidth, should demand from subscribers increase. Each subscriber to the broadband service is on a separate VLAN to offer a high level of network security and separation from other users and protected from internet attacks by a quality firewall device.

All the offices have been abundantly furnished with mains power sockets for the connection of office or ICT equipment from a well-specified and stable electrical supply.

The offices are all fitted with CAT2 fluorescent office grade lighting to ensure comfortable operation of computer displays.

Security at the site was found to be excellent, with all the main doors, utility rooms and communications or data rooms being well secured with locks to ensure restricted access to only authorised persons. Individual offices are also secured by locks and are also protected by individually controlled alarm systems. In addition, the site has an extensive remotely monitored quality CCTV system, including additional features enabling monitoring of entry to and from the site.

Mobile phone coverage was found to be consistently good throughout the buildings and there are no building features that were found to prevent the use of wireless networking.

Overall, the offices at the Enterprise Village offer a very comfortable working environment in a secure and conveniently located site, with access to most of the ICT features that are required by a modern small business.
