The property, which is home to Barnsley Council, allows 24 hour access via smartcards with embedded chips and there is security provided for both offices and general areas. The property has a WEE recycling policy and movement sensitive lighting to ensure the building has a low carbon footprint. The ICT is accessible from day one and there are disaster recovery facilities available.
The building is powered by a three phase supply and there are back-up generators and an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) which could support all of the on-site services. There is a managed 15Gbits leased line internet connection and there is also free wireless 10Mbits internet for visitors. VPN, LAN, email, web-hosting, video conferencing and firewall services are all available for free. Back-up facilities are offered and there is constant on-site technical support.
