SOAR Works is a mixed use, multi-tenant business centre development to be located in the Parsons Cross area of Sheffield. Work to build it will begin in October 2008 with a target completion date of November 2009. The scheme aims to support members of the local community in starting their own businesses with advice and accommodation. The development will provide office, workshop and studio space for start-up businesses.
Access to the building will be via fob keys and there will be security measures in place for individual offices. Tenancy contracts will be run on an easy in / easy out basis and ICT will be available from day one.
Throughout the property there will be copper Cat6 cabling which should allow speeds of up to 1Gbit. There will be leased line internet up to 10Mbits run through a fibre line. It will be possible to run internet services and VPN over the connection as well as firewalling, email options and LAN. There will also be telephony options available including voicemail, conference calling and a telephone reception service.
